I think people are much more for keeping sick children home. It used to be more acceptable to send them when they were not feeling well, but now people are much more aware of how quickly viruses spread in the population. |
Parents not involved and lack parenting skills. They do not discipline or have consequences for negative behavior. Lack of support for teachers and administrators— I am a retired teacher and Principal. |
Lack of Motivation and caring (by parent and student) |
As a parent & educator, I find that parents want to spend more time with their children. Sometimes that means taking them out of school for trips or just being home with them. Life is short, & COVID made us realize the importance of being with family |
Parents are taking extended vacations, adding days on before or after vacations, taking vacations when it is convenient for them, or when prices are cheaper to travel. |
