The recent passing of a dear friend and highly regarded educator caused me to reflect on the professional legacy that we leave behind. In one sentence, please describe the professional legacy that you wish to leave behind. All contributions will be posted but treated confidentially.

I hope my legacy is one of a teacher and coach who was firm yet fair and brought the 'F' word to learning every day. FUN, if you are not having fun, it's harder to learn.

I fought to make greater educational opportunities available to all children.

Dr. Harris was fair and advocated for all students!

We are not here just to teach students with special education, but for us to learn from them.

A leader who was dedicated to building a kind, hardworking community of students and staff who contributed to an environment where everyone felt safe, welcomed, and respected.

I hope my professional legacy is a desire for excellence and a passion for paying it forward by helping those who follow in our footsteps master the art and science of educating children, whether in the classroom or the administrative offices.

My professional legacy: It was always about the children, opening their minds, touching their hearts, and believing in them!

Effective mentoring is crucial to ensuring that teachers are retained and have the necessary resources to actively support and engage our students in growth and achieving real-life success.

Students...Staff...Community focused - not politics.

I hope my legacy is that all the children I served felt heard, seen, and cared for by someone who truly valued them just as they are.

I want to be remembered for what someone once called me, a force of nature for the students.

That I made somebody's life a little bit better, my students have changed my life so much, but knowing that I helped them, even just a little, makes all the difference.

The legacy I want to leave behind is never to give up! We have many opportunities to correct mistakes, but I can't say the same for things we choose not to redo due to a silly fear.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
