A course on critical thinking first would allow for an open study of these subjects so walls are broken down and justice can be served. Real education should be based on an open mind. That does not force you to give up what you believe.

There is no way to define racial inequality today. Everyone has equal opportunity under the law. If people aren't able to succeed, that is on them, not because of any societal racism. As for gender identity, it is a fake issue.

It is completely the parents' decision on what their child is exposed to or learning.

Parents may not want to talk about it at home, but these are things that all students/humans should at the very least hear about and be allowed to make their own informed decisions. I think it needs to be taught in a very non-biased way: just factual

I believe both of those topics should be discussed at home with parents being able to decide when it is appropriate to start talking to their kids about either one of those issues. As a Christian, I would want them to get the information from me.

Leave kids alone!!!!!

Children should be exposed to all the different people in our world as well as different cultures.

Allowing students to opt out of learning about certain (social) topics is to further divide people, foster ignorance/prejudice, and deprives students of the experience of embracing individual differences and celebrating the uniqueness of the human race.

Gender issues should be handled by parents. If the parent needs help he/she can seek help from school social workers, psychologists, or physicians. Age-appropriate.

My responses are no; with the caveat that the school has done its due diligence and provided the families an overview of the standard objective and materials to be presented.

We need to respect and appreciate our differences. This is something that perhaps only schools can help teach since there are still many parents who are prejudiced.

One does not choose one's race. So teaching children the reality of racial inequality should not be a parental choice. Teaching children about LGBTQ may contradict a family’s religious beliefs and confuse young children.

Public education is non-religious based, however, it is value-based. The educational system strives to make our society a better place by teaching acceptance and equality.

We should teach tolerance. Students need access to resources if they are struggling with their own questions related to such issues. Maybe offer classes to help parents?

Over the years, parents have had "opt-outs" to maturation programs, etc. These appear to be just new topics. However, these are a "slippery slope" for disrespect and loss of civil rights for citizens. Question 2 must be age-appropriate.
