Please respond to the latest School Leadership 2.0 survey

Pennsylvania has faced a significant decline in its teacher workforce, with the number of certified teachers dropping from approximately 20,000 a decade ago to just 5,000 in 2023. To address this pressing issue, the state introduced the Educator Pipeline Support Grant Program, offering stipends to student teachers up to $15.000 to alleviate financial burdens and encourage more individuals to pursue teaching careers. Cooperating teachers would get $2500. Do you approve of this type of program?

NCES (National Center for Education Statistics) is literally the only reliable, nonpartisan source of information about U.S. education. It is not partisan. Recent layoffs by the Trump administration have reduced the staff from 100 to 3, effectively eliminating the service. How concerned are you about this downsizing?

-

 Very concerned------------------69.2%

 Somewhat concerned-----------15.4%

 Little concerned------------------7.7%

 Not concerned--------------------7.7%

Is it possible to save our educational professionals?

I don't feel that nationally aggregated data is accurate and that it is helpful to solve local issues that have very specific dynamics.

He won't stop until he's gutted education entirely, like any dictator.

We need to know how our kids are doing. Particularly regarding literacy and where they fall against other students in the country

We have bigger battles to fight.

How does the United States gauge educational progress across 50 states and six territories without an independent research source with a long history of use by all types of people from policy makers to local school boards?

It’s important to know that we are implementing effective practices. With states moving towards funding vouchers and passing legislation that explicitly states how something will be taught, we need this research even more.

How was it used? After the cuts, where will the data be reviewed? By whom? And what purpose? Process for deciding what is cut? The Constitution gives states responsibility for education / Where is the data to be reviewed? Educated citizenry is urgent!
