Reaching Toward Tomorrow
Presenter, Lucy Calkins

In this talk, Lucy Calkins will help leaders of schools and districts think about ways to undertake the reforms called for by the ambitious Common Core State Standards. Calkins will suggest ways in which an intensified version of the reading and writing workshop can help you accelerate students’ literacy development. She will emphasize the importance of deep, systemic, and lasting initiatives. This talk will draw on long term work with schools throughout the area.

This workshop is free for all 2011-12 NCESPA members. Membership applications will be accepted the morning of the presentation.  Non-members: The cost of the workshop for non-members will be $15 per person.
