 State Standards. Calkins will suggest ways in which an intensified ver
 sion of the reading and writing workshop can help you accelerate stude
 nts’ literacy development. She will emphasize the importance of deep
 , systemic, and lasting initiatives. This talk will draw on long term 
 work with schools throughout the area.\n \nThis workshop is free for
