A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
BACK-TO-SCHOOL ALERT
Beware. Sight-words are the nation’s most common intellectual virus. They infect every aspect of our school system.
Everyone who takes 10 minutes to understand what the Reading Wars are really about will oppose sight-words. Conversely, these people will promote phonics, which is the natural way to teach and learn a phonetic language.
This short article on LinkedIn explains everything: Mammas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Learn Sight-Words
How can I make this discussion even simpler? How about: kill a sight-word, save a kid.
Meanwhile, the Education Establishment is Machiavellian, Luciferian, and Stalinesque in perpetuating this fraud. Do you believe that’s an extreme statement? Are you willing to risk a kid’s future on that belief?
Basically, all I'm saying is what Rudolf Flesch said in 1955. Phonics is how the Greeks, Romans and Jews learned their languages, thousands of years ago. Nothing changes. Phonetic languages must be learned in this sequence: the letters of the alphabet, the sounds represented by the letters, and how those sounds blend to form new sounds. That's it. Most children can learn to read in 4-5 months.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
