This is an update on the wonderful videos made by HSLDA. If only everyone America could see both…

The short one at 22 minutes is called "Building the Machine – the parent interviews". For some reason it is now unavailable. The substitute here is the PREVIEW, which is better in a way because it's only 7 minutes, and here is that link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyP2PZk-XFg

The long one at 39 minutes is called "Building the Machine – the Core Documentary." Here the interviews are with education experts who, for the most part, opposed Common Core. In these interviews they explain all the underlying fallacies in Common Core. Here is that video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjxBClx01jc

Meanwhile I wrote an article about both of them called "Common Core Gore – "The Young and the Wounded," which gives more background and provides links to two other articles that will help people understand this thing.

PS:  Here's an interesting point of semantics. The word "standards" is thrown around relentlessly in explanations of Common Core. The promoters use this word as if it is exactly synonymous with "results." To announce higher standards is the same, they pretend, as everybody achieving at a higher level. You can take the standards up to the moon, you can say that in the future every kid will think like Einstein, but there are still going to be children who can't read and write. Just watch and see.
