Okay, you need a break. Something a little funny. How about this riff where I present to Hollywood a pitch for a movie called "Despicable Them-- the Common Core Movie."

 You see, there's this gang that wants to wreck the public schools and make money doing it. In your town. Yeah, there's nothing but laughs in our public schools these days.

 Is this bit of sarcasm and satire unfair, over the top, unreasonable? Decide for yourself. But the way I see it, there was a vast scheme to take over the public schools, and impose federal control on them. Or perhaps we should say: more federal control. Much more federal control.
