Event Description

Save the Date: October 26, 2011 – Chinese Workshop

Location: Half Hollow Hills CSD, 525 Half Hollow Road, Dix Hills, NY

The Half Hollow Hills’ Department of World Languages will host a workshop for Mandarin Chinese teachers on October 26, 2011. The hours are from 9 AM – 2 PM at the Fran Greenspan Administration Center. Teachers will have the opportunity to discuss curriculum and technology, share activities/projects, classroom management and to discuss locally developed assessments for students in grades eight and ten. The full day workshop will give teachers time to work collaboratively on the areas that they need to fine tune. Experts in the field will be invited to facilitate the discussions and to work with teachers. The workshop is open to Mandarin Chinese teachers who are currently employed by a district; we encourage administrator to attend if at all possible. More information will follow, but please save the date and share this exciting workshop with your teachers. No need to RSVP at this time.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
