What software are people using as a general assistive technology tool? I mostly see  SOLO and Kurzweil in the districts that I work in. Is anyone using WYNN or Read and Write Gold?

We're going to start using Read Outloud/Write Outloud.  Do you have any resources for me Lorianne?  - Christine

Hi Christine

I like the SOLO suite of software very much. I use the 30 minute training modules that are produced by Don Johnston for training, and I use the xerox documate scanner to digitize the print materials. I use bookshare of course to download books, and that is about it! It is an easy set of software to use.

Christine,

Ruston Hurley's presentation at FETC included Newsela which allows you to modify lexile levels of a

document in much the same way you can using Achieve3000.

For districts using Google Apps for Education, there are accessibility apps that you can purchase that lay on top of the Docs interface (this is in addition to the accessibility features that are available based on your operating system and actual device (HP, Lenovo, Samsung, etc.)

Read and Write is one, http://www.texthelp.com/north-america/readwriteforgoogle
