BRIEF MEMO
about the two big obstacles
blocking education reform
During the past year, I've thought a lot about this question. In some curious way, public education is ossified. The short answer is that our Education Establishment wants everything the way it wants it. These people hang on to all their worst ideas.
QED: No reform admitted. Go away and come back some other decade.
If you want to improve education, you have to confront these two obstacles and think, okay, now let's fix these one by one and then we can move forward.
