A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
When the Education Establishment tries to blame parents, students, and teachers (that is, anybody but themselves), you know this is hugely self-serving. Blaming everyone but yourself is called CYA all around the world.
Now, why would the people actually in charge of the public schools be held responsible? The Education Establishment would like to ask that question as they react in horror at the first mention of their own culpability.
I'm being a little facetious. So let me cut to the deadly serious. The chain of command in education goes way, way up. There are bosses and forces far removed from the school and community. Scores of foundations, government agencies, and private organizations dictate and meddle in every way they can. Did you know that Bill Gates gave money to more than 75 separate organizations so that they would promote Common Core?
So, whatever results you see at your local level, the orders and the blueprints are coming down from on high.
Here's a reasonable proposal. When schools are mediocre, let's blame the people in charge, the people at the top. Let's demand they do a better job.
