The Best Videos For Teaching About Iran-U.S. Tensions

When school is back in session on Monday, a lot of us will be talking with our students about what’s going on in the Middle East.

Here are some videos giving decent historical overviews of Iran-U.S. tensions.

They have all been created over the last few years. I’m listing them in chronological order of their publication, with the last one being published today. However, that one doesn’t go as far back as it should. Others discuss the U.S. overthrowing Iran’s democratically-elected government decades ago.

This first one is from Al Jazeera, with is funded by the Quatari government. I try to always point out when I share resources from government-related media efforts, whether they are Al Jazeera, Voice of America, or others. I generally find, however, that Al Jazeera materials are pretty objective, and feel that way about this video. Parisa Mehran, PhD suggested it:
