Is there anything good about Common Core?

Yes, it's funny, you know, like when a man flips on a banana peel and breaks his leg.

Apparently, the people who foisted this thing on us think it's all very serious. They see themselves somewhat in the religion business. Their job is to write new liturgies. Now that's funny.

Here's something you may not know. A lot of people on the Internet compare Common Core to Abbott and Costello. Because they're all absurd. Have you seen the little bit called "Loan Me 50 cents." The other guy says I've only got 40 cents. Okay, give me 40 cents and you'll owe me 10 cents.... Weird little logical zigzags, that's the common denominator between Common Core and Abbott and Costello. Thus the title: K-12: Comedy Core

This article explains the connections.

You can also look on Pinterest for things about Common Core. That's where I saw this distillation of Common Core wisdom: "If you have four pencils and seven apples, how many pancakes will fit on a roof?  Purple.  Because aliens don't wear hats."
