A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Around 1910, all the plans were in place. John Dewey and his socialist pals would control the schools of education; these schools would indoctrinate the young teachers, who would then be sent out across America to change the country. None of this would result from legislation or public discussion. Everything would be done by stealth.
The question is, how much secrecy is legitimate? Communists would say: we have no power so we have to sneak around the back alleys.
But there's a certain moral shabbiness to all that. You are turning the people in your country into your victims. You're making them accept something that they don't even know they're accepting. This has been the pattern in American education for a century.
I think many people in education think of themselves as "change agents" and they are comfortable with covert activity. They may be proud of it.
But I also suspect there's another (probably much bigger) group of people who have no idea how manipulated the field of education is. Wouldn't everyone benefit from more candor and transparency?
People ought to at least know what's being done in their name and on behalf of their profession. They ought to know what the real ideological and sociological goals are, for their students and parents.
So that's the motive for writing this article, which is titled "Education as Covert Op."

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
