The effect of the coronavirus pandemic on students' mental health may be overlooked, according to Dr. Dimitri Christakis, director of the Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development at Seattle Children's hospital. In an editorial in a medical journal, Christakis argues that balance is needed when assessing the risks of coronavirus and the social-emotional development, mental health and learning needs of students.
