The Network (her word)  is all the people and forces trying to subdue education. Common Core represents the fulfillment of their control over everything K-12. They have to be stopped if you want to save genuine education.

  You know what the only hope is? That all the people in the middle start to take sides.

Presumably some people have sold out and they know it. They are the problem. A lot more people, I would guess, are idealistic and trying to remain so as they build a career. But in the process, they may sometimes have to pretend not to notice all the weird abuses. If everybody would just see a little more, talk a little more, resist a little more, it would make a huge difference.
