I think I wrote a long article about this topic six years ago.... But it keeps nagging at me. I suspect now it's worse than I thought it was.

Did you realize that people at the graduate levels are buying their papers on the Internet. That should not be remotely possible if the teachers are paying any attention.

Meanwhile I think that schools and classes are in some cases completely overrun by cheating. It's a team sport. That is really disgraceful.

The main thing that started to bother me is that this cheating is not taking place in a vacuum. If a mediocre student gets a dishonest A, that person will seem to be a better student than the honest A- person. So who gets the scholarship?
