Eighty-eight percent of teachers say one-on-one mentoring is valuable for students, with 82% saying mentoring helps improve academic performance, according to a survey by the nonprofit Gradient Learning released Monday. The nonprofit organization Mentor also reports that students who have a mentor are more likely to volunteer in their communities and less likely to skip school.
