New Tools to Help School Districts Foster Effective PrincipalsPrincipals are key to improving teaching and learning, so school district officials need to make sure that their central offices give principals the right support and management. Developed by education researchers at the University of Washington, the Central Office Transformation Toolkitis meant to help officials in this task. Two of the three tools guide district administrators through planning for changing the central office so that it focuses more on supporting effective school leadership. The third tool is an aid to principal supervisors who want to develop the instructional capabilities of the principals they oversee. We value your views.
