Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside dedicated educators and community members who put students at the center of every choice. This work is not always easy. Leadership can be challenging, isolating at times, and full of moments that test our resolve. But it is always worth it.
To my fellow leaders: Please don’t give up. Keep leading with integrity. Keep putting students and community first. Even when the path forward feels uncertain, remember that every thoughtful decision, every hard conversation, and every act of support shapes the future in ways we can’t always immediately see.
I remain grateful to serve as superintendent of Marcus Whitman Central School District and to coach and support other leaders who are navigating their own journeys. Our collective commitment to doing what is right, and not what is easy, is what truly defines us.
If you’re a leader facing challenges, know that you’re not alone. I’m here to connect, support, and learn alongside you. Let’s keep going. Our students and communities deserve nothing less. All the best!
