In the wake of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, which held that Title VII’s prohibition on sex discrimination in the workplace includes discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, the Biden administration issued an executive order stating its position that other federal civil rights laws, such as Title IX and the Fair Housing Act, also prohibit discrimination on these grounds.
