At Evidence for ESSA this quarter...

At Evidence for ESSA we are continually updating and expanding our reviews of studies that show rigorous evidence support for educational programs. Please consider sharing the signup link for our newsletter with your colleagues and/or school districts.

New EfE Listings

  • Once Early-Reading Program received a Promising evidence rating for two studies: one randomized controlled trial in K-1 and one quasi-experiment in K, both focusing on children scoring below grade-level in literacy. Once Early-Reading Program is a paraprofessional-delivered, school-embedded 1:1 literacy tutoring program.
  • PeerLearning.net received a badged Strong rating in the Social-Emotional Learning category for two randomized trials in grades 6-9. It is a tech platform that helps teachers design and deliver cooperative learning lessons.
  • Spalding’s The Writing Road to Reading strengthened its evidence with a followup study of 445 below-grade-level students from an earlier study, earning a Promising rating for the Struggling Readers population.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
