Molloy College invites teachers of grades K-12 to attend English Language Arts workshops in the spring and summer of 2011. The following ELA workshops will be offered this spring at the Rockville Centre Campus from 4:00p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: WEB INFUSED CURRICULUM (Grades 7-12): 3/14/11; USING MULTIMODALITIES TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN LEARNING (Grades 7-12): 3/15/11; TEACHING SOCIAL ISSUES THROUGH LITERATURE (Grades 7-12): 3/16/11; BY HOOK OR CROOK, THEY’LL READ THAT BOOK (Grades 7-12): 3/18/11; CAN THE CLASSICS BE COOL? (Grades 7-12): 3/21/11; TEACHING LITERACY AND DRAMA TO STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (Grades K-6): 4/12/11; READING COMPREHENSION IN THE K-6 CLASSROOM: 4/13/11. The workshop fee is $35.
Six (6) ELA Summer Institutes will be offered on a four (4) day schedule from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. starting the last week of June and ending August 4th. The Institutes can either be taken on a day-by-day workshop basis for $130 per day or for all 4 days at the discounted rate of $495 for 2 in-service credits. Each Institute may also be taken for 3 graduate credits for $900; however, you must register for all 4 days.
