I have had this argument for weeks now. The President, Congress, Senate, Supreme Court, banks, as well as every citizen in the US is protected by guns (being carried by police.) But we leave our youngest, most precious, and most vulnerable assets unprotected to the whim of anyone with a deadly thoughts. We trust our teachers with our children every day. Why wouldn't we then trust a teacher (who is licensed and trained) to carry a gun on school grounds? It just doesn't make any sense to me, especially when politicians are saying this will only place students in the middle of gunfire. Do we really think teachers this unstable? And is that worse than the possibility of leaving everyone at the whim of a madman with a gun? I am politically neutral, but I am a science teacher. This is simple logic to me. If the President and politicians don't agree, let's take the guns away from the Secret Service and the guards at the gate to the White House.
