A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Dear School Leadership 2.0 Community,
I am currently seeking a School Counselor position within a Long Island School District. As my attached resume cites, I am a New York State Certified School Counselor, having studied and trained at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, where I earned a Master of Science Degree in School Counseling in 2008.
As of June 2011, I was a School Counselor at Islip Middle School. Unfortunately, due to budget restrictions, my position was eliminated for the upcoming school year. I have been eager to get back into a school system, since.
Currently, I am the Volunteer Coordinator at Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk, Inc. where I direct a program comprised of training and overseeing 150 hospice volunteers who help care for hospice patients and their families. My resume outlines my varied experience in education, counseling and human services. It also demonstrates flexibility in problem solving in several very different settings.
I look forward to discussing more fully my background and the contributions I believe I can offer to the students in our community.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Amanda Dubinsky

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
