• ProvenTutoring has joined JHU’s Center for Research and Reform in Education. ProvenTutoring is a free resource dedicated to helping schools adopt evidence-based tutoring models.

ProvenTutoring is designed to promote the use of proven tutoring models as a solution to the learning problems of students who lost ground during the Covid school closures, and those who are far below grade level for any reason.

We plan to accomplish our goal by doing the following:

  • Communicating the importance of proven tutoring models as a means of diminishing learning gaps.
  • Offering educators in-depth information on proven tutoring models to help them make informed choices. This includes activities like webinars, tutoring fairs, newsletters, presentations, and meetings with SEAs, districts, and schools.
  • Jointly marketing proven tutoring programs to elementary, middle, and high schools.
  • Holding webinars for school and district leaders about topics related to proven tutoring.
  • Encouraging government and private funders to accelerate the pace of development and evaluation of new programs and evaluation of existing but unevaluated programs, to add diversity and capacity to the set of programs offered to schools.
  • Promoting strategies to enable successful teaching assistant tutors to obtain teacher certification, so that tutoring can become part of a pipeline into teaching for capable tutors.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
