I have always been a big fan of email. I love it because it provides a rock-solid electronic paper trail that is easily searchable, even years after the email is sent. While the list of uses for email could go on for pages, the truth is that email isn’t great for everything and, sometimes, can cause more harm than good.

We’ve all likely encountered a passive aggressive email from a manager that’s caused us to question if we’re doing a good job at work. Maybe one that’s caused us to shed a tear or even consider quitting.

It’s critical that managers, especially in today’s ever-evolving workplace landscape, are mindful before pressing Send. So, here are five types of emails that managers should never send your staff.
