Event Description

You wouldn't think of making most of your important life decisions, like buying a house or selecting a medical procedure, on the basis of a single measure. You would typically use multiple assessments to make these decisions. The same logic holds for schools, especially since schooling includes numerous and very different outcomes: academic content and skills, practical and fine arts, health and nutrition, social skills, psychological skills, citizenship, and more. In simple terms, multiple measures means using more than one assessment and one assessment score to make judgments about individual students, classes, schools, and school districts. Join us for a two-day exploration (MARCH 5 and 6, 2013)of the most current practices in educational assessment with Karin Hess, a nationally recognized leader in this field. Focus on using Multiple Measures for instructional improvement by...

  • developing your understanding of the appropriate uses and interpretation of information gained from multiple assessment measures,
  • developing a shared  understanding of content alignment and Depth of Knowledge/Cognitive Rigor as applied to implementing the Common Core, and
  • refine your local assessment system blueprint for using multiple assessment measures for different purposes.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
