Molloy College invites teachers of grades K-12 to attend English Language Arts Institutes in the summer of 2011. Six (6) ELA Summer Institutes will be offered on a four (4) day schedule from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. starting the last week of June and ending August 4th.
Workshop topics include: NON-FICTION IN THE SECONDARY ENGLISH CLASSROOM; USING MULTIMODALITIES TO ENGAGE SECONDARY STUDENTS IN LEARNING; USING TECHNOLOGY IN GRADES 7-12; TEACHING APPROPRIATE RESEARCH SKILLS IN THE AGE OF GOOGLE AND WIKIPEDIA (Grades 6-8; 7-12); STRATEGIES FOR ACTIVE LITERACY IN THE ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM; MEETING THE NEEDS OF DIVERSE LEARNERS (Grades K-6).
The Institutes can either be taken on a day-by-day workshop basis for $130 per day or for all 4 days at the discounted rate of $495 for 2 in-service credits. Each Institute may also be taken for 3 graduate credits for $900; however, you must register for all 4 days.
