Event Description

Company Camp, a New Long Island Tech Incubator

Giving Away $10,000 to Tech Savvy Teenagers

PRESS RELEASE

January 15, 2013

Company Camp, the latest startup incubator to hit the scene, is taking Long Island by

storm and targeting the most talented market around: creative and passionate teenagers. Company Camp is a 10 week collaborative competition that offers enterprising high school and middle school students a solid program of entrepreneurial mentor-ship and an underpinning in the fundamentals of tech startups. Students who long to be the next Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Jobs have the very real possibility of launching a company of their own with the $10,000 worth of prize money that goes to the most promising group of young talent with no strings attached.

Company Camp, founded by Brian Mannix, CEO of Babysitting Barter, is accepting

applications for its first session at www.companycamp.net. The weekly sessions are 2 ½ hours in length, include dinner, and cover topics such as ideation, market research, team building, potential legal pitfalls, raising capital, web design, development and deployment, and the essential elevator pitch. Company Camp brings students together to network and collaborate with like-minded individuals who want to change the world. The final week of Company Camp is Demo Day where all of the teams present their ideas to friends, family, Angel Investors and Venture Capital firms.

Students can apply at www.companycamp.net as an individual or as a team, and are

accepted based on the quality of their answers in an application that includes an optional entrance video. Each “camp” session is capped at a max of 21 attendees offering all of the participants of Company Camp very good odds of winning the $10,000 prize ($10,000 prize is based on a min. of 15 participants).

Company Camp begins on Tuesday, February 26th at 6:30 p.m at the Great Neck Arts Center and kicks off with the New York premier of “The Startup Kids” an Icelandic documentary about young entrepreneur founders from companies like Vimeo, Soundcloud, Kiip, InDinero, Dropbox, Foodspotting and many others. This screening is open to the general public at no charge.

Apply today to earn the chance to build the company of your dreams while connecting with technology experts appearing in person and Skyping in from around the country.

At Company Camp you will have an experience that you will never forget.

We know those who want to change the world are young, capable and out there right now. Apply today and prove us right.
