The ELA Coordinator Network Meetings are designed for central and building administrators, literacy coaches/specialists, ELA consultants, and lead teachers interested in impacting literacy learning on Long Island. Through a series of three professional development opportunities, Carol Varsalona will facilitate professional conversations with NYSED officials. Topics will range from assessments, Common Core Initiatives, and K-12 curriculum materials found on EngageNY. The intent of these regional meetings is to link SED to Long Island so educators can stay informed about New York State initiatives and connect with other districts. Having cross-district conversations regarding literacy teaching and learning is essential in building a collaborative community.
