The LI SEL Forum, in collaboration with Nassau BOCES Curriculum, Instruction and Technology invites you to join us for an opportunity to share information, strategies and concerns about the implementation of the Dignity Act.  This forum is provided for all Dignity Act Coordinators (DACs) and interested administrators and student support staff who will be assisting their schools in the implementation process.  Topics will include:

§  Developing staff training that meets the State requirements.

§  Discussing procedures for consistent reporting of, and responding to incidents of discrimination and harassment.

§  Creating a pro-active performance culture in which school adults model positive, supportive behaviors.

§  Reviewing direct instruction options for teaching students about civility, character education and citizenship.

§  Concerns of DAC’s, such as liability and establishing procedures that are thorough and manageable.

There is no charge for this session.  Participants are encouraged to bring lunch and beverages.

Register on Mylearningplan.com to reserve a place.

If you would like to make suggestions for topics to be discussed, or ask questions about the forum, please contact Dr. Ron Smith at docron@optonline.net.   We welcome your input.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
