Based upon the enthusiastic response of participants in the previous two-hour workshop (Feb. 27), "The Skills Needed to be a 21st Century Special Education Leader", the Long Island School Leadership Center is pleased to present a full day workshop entitled, "The 21st Century Special Education Program - What You Need in Order to Lead." The full day workshop will be presented on May 20, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

What: "The 21st Century Special Education Program - What You Need in Order to Lead"
The future landscape of special education services will change dramatically for many reasons. Now is the time to analyze these factors and explore future issues. Creating and maintaining effective principal partnerships, program building, legal issues, finance and the new fiscal climate will all be discussed, as well as issues specific to Quality Assurance Audits, new NYSED Indicators, preschool services and changes and DOL/DOR issues.

When: May 20, 2008 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Fee: $130 - Lunch will be provided.

Dr. Maria A. Taliercio is a veteran school and district administrator with 12 years of PPS leadership on Long Island.

Dr. Debra Winter is currently the Assistant Superintendent for the Longwood School District.
