No doubt you believe Nate speaks for Gen Z: those 13-28-year-olds you see in your neighborhood coffee shop but never at the library or bookstore. If you hadn’t noticed, the onslaught of recent opinions on the subject have beat it into you by now: kids won’t (can’t!) read whole books. It’s Covid! It’s phones!
Yes, but. It’s more than that.
Truth: Most teenagers do not read whole books.
Nonsense: Teenagers have lost the ability to read whole books.
