An assignment on CNN prompted me to record this video which talks about the naturalness of the fit which I experienced in the classroom as teacher. It also speaks to the need for us to validate student interpretation of literature and not to be too severely wedded to our strongly held notions of what is the correct meaning of a piece of literature---thus the premise that it is teachers' empowering student trust in their own ideas that is so profoundly important in teaching and learning.
