I am a proud father of two amazing girls who constantly keep me thinking about finding ways to be a better dad. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to be part of their lives. Currently I work as assistant principal at Jericho High School. It has been an incredible experience and I hope to continue enhancing that experience as time goes. I completed my doctoral degree from Fordham University last August and have been expending my time reading about 21st century school leadership and what it should look like. I have been privileged the opportunity to reflect on the practice of school leadership and talking to great leaders along the way. My conclusion is that school leadership needs a transformation from the old perceptions of school administrators or building level principals to a global leadership style defined as climate controller. 21st century school leadership must be able to create the most effective environment in which students, parents and teachers interact at the highest levels of efficacy. School leaders who view themselves as climate controllers are constantly adjusting their leadership style in order to maintain a high efficacy level.

I think that it would be great if I am able to meet other Hispanic administrators out here on the Island and discuss some of the issues that affects us on a daily basis.
