Zetta.net Vice President of Engineering Will Discuss the Benefits of Next-Generation Server Backup and Disaster Recovery at EDUCAUSE 2012

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Zetta.net today announced that Vice President of Engineering Lou Montulli will deliver a presentation on November 8 at the EDUCAUSE 2012 conference in Denver, Colorado. Titled Next-Generation Backup: Simpler and Cheaper, with Disaster Recovery Capability, Montulli will discuss how higher education IT professionals can simplify and combine local and off-site backups, archiving and disaster recovery over the web, while driving down backup costs. The session will include a case study video and technology demonstration.

The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference is the premier gathering for higher education IT professionals. It provides content and exploration of today’s toughest technology issues facing campuses around the world, and convenes some of the brightest minds in the community.

Montulli, formerly a founding engineer at Netscape Communications and early innovator in the web, co-founded Zetta.net, which addresses the challenges of higher education IT with its 3-in-1 hybrid server backup, disaster recovery and archiving technology. The SaaS-based solution is particularly attractive to higher institutions and distributed campuses because it eliminates the cost and management complexities of appliance hardware and software, and makes on-premise, offsite backup and recovery significantly faster, more efficient and extremely affordable.

“I'm very pleased to participate in EDUCAUSE 2012 and look forward to sharing the insights we've gathered through our work with education customers,” said Lou Montulli, vice president of engineering and co-founder, Zetta.net. “More than ever, education institutions are required to maximize their budgets and resources while maintaining excellence in the classroom. With today's next-generation backup and disaster recovery, IT administrators can dramatically reduce cost, while achieving a full range of local, offsite, archiving and disaster recovery functionality - an unparalleled value in today's market.”

Lou Montulli's session will be held at 5:30 on November 8, in Meeting Room 405/406. For more information about EDUCAUSE 2012, visit http://www.educause.edu/annual-conference.
