In the last couple of decades, online education has become gradually more popular. One of the first entrants into the online education market was the MBA program. Offered by a variety of institutions, the MBA was one of the first educational offering available online and remains one of the most popular today. In the past, some universities shied away from online education, and employers devalued online graduates. However, as these types of graduates have become more mainstream and institutions have become more adept at teaching these distance learning courses, today a "traditional" degree and an online degree hold equal value in the employment marketplace.
