Ted Kolderie told me about teacher-led schools 2000. He convinced me to visitMinnesota New Country School (MNCS) where teachers had created an innovative project-based and fully individualized school -- and they were in charge. MNCS teachers had formed a co-op and applied for a charter and operated with full autonomy. I announced that it was "the coolest school in America."
