The move to "hybrid teaching" -- in which teachers simultaneously teach in-person students and those online -- has drawn criticism from some educators who say it is ineffective and difficult to manage. As some school district officials say they do not want to take that option off the table, teachers' unions in some states seek to ban the practice.
