...And the Newberry Goes To...

Awards season is underway!  Unlike the other coveted awards being given at this time of year, there are no red carpets, Fashion Police or star-studded galas associated with the Newberry, but to authors and librarians, there might as well be.  Children's librarians wait breathlessly to see if their pick  wins, and writers know that this award is a career maker.
This year the winner is The One and Only Ivan, by Katherine Applegate.  Read all about this book and the other nominees here.
