Currently, I share my PowerPoints with students by exporting them into a Flash format, using iSpring (formerly FlashSpring, http://www.ispringsolutions.com/) and uploading them to school web space. This way, they're "locked" and platform independent, so long as the user has Adobe FlashPlayer installed.
Have you checked out VoiceThread? Another cool tool to stimulate student discussion and participation outside of the classroom: http://voicethread.com/
I actually use WiziQ when my students present their PPT presentations to the class. However, many of the links do not work when shown, which is a negative. Also, I would like to be able to share URLs for webpages, but WiziQ does not allow that either, so I am looking into CUNY purchasing Elluminate for my use. I do use Skype hold conference calls and group chats, where I can send files and URLs. I will definitely look into authorstream. BTW, I listened to your session on WiziQ when I first started!!
