The field of education has been a great journey for me. I started my career in special education working with adults age 18-40 at Ray Graham. I took a few years off to have a family and worked from home in the concrete business. I definitely missed teaching and went back to work as a special education teacher at the elementary level. I had the opportunity to co-teach with some amazing teachers that gave me a broader view of teaching and a deeper understanding of strategies to use in the mainstream classroom for special-ed students to make gains and find success. After receiving my masters in Educational leadership and my Type 75 I journeyed into administration. Being an administer has given me an even broader view at the building level and now at the district level. I am not sure where this journey will take me next but I am enjoying being able to make a more global difference for systemic change that benefits students.
