- I am an aspiring assistant school principal with a diverse background in elementary and middle school education. My career began in New Jersey, where I specialized in science, math and technology. At the Rahway Middle School, I assisted with the development of the Dual Language Program for grades 6-8 whereby students learned subject matter in Spanish in the morning and English in the afternoon. My interpersonal, leadership skills and passion for science as facilitator with the Merck Institute for Science Education gave me the opportunity to work for the River Edge Public Schools as Science Specialist for both Roosevelt and Cherry Hill Elementary Schools.
I presently work for the Brevard School District at Palm Bay Elementary, home of the Li'l Pirates. In Brevard, my supervisory skills, coupled with my expertise in curriculum have helped me assist principals in their quest for innovative STEM program implementation.
I passionately believe that reading is the most important factor to a child's ability to learn content. Reading, therefore, is the thread that needs to be sewn throughout the curriculum. Secondly, I believe that as technology continues to evolve by giant leaps, school leaders need to hold on to the nurture factor and lead from the heart.
I am blessed with a wonderful husband, two grown children and proud abuela (grandmother) to two beautiful girls. I enjoy photography and the joy of sharing that it brings.
