Michael Keany has provided educational leadership consultation and
training to over forty Long Island school districts and to many
organizations throughout New York State.
Known for his highly interactive presentation techniques, Mike is
skilled at working with both large audiences and small groups.

INTERVIEW COACHING
Keany Associates offers a very popular service for prospective job
seekers, both in administration and in teaching. Working with his
associate who has worked extensively in human resources, Mike
conducts a two-hour personalized interview coaching session which
includes resume and cover letter review. A highlight of the session
is the videotaped mock interview and analysis.

Mike’s most recent position was the Director of the Long Island
School Leadership Center, a part of the network of regional centers
developed throughout New York State. Mike retired after 34 years in
public education. During that period he served as a science
teacher, assistant principal, middle school principal and high
school principal in Manhasset. He has been a principal for a total
of 21 years. He has taught at three metropolitan area colleges. He
served as President of the Nassau County North Shore High School
Principals’ Association and is an elected member of the National
Headmasters Association. Mike was chosen as the Nassau County
Administrator of the Year in 1992-3. Most recently, he has been
appointed to the School Building Leader Advisory Assessment
Committee that will have responsibility for the creation of the new
assessment tools for certifying school administrators in New York.
He also served on the Staff Committee for the Blue Ribbon
Commission on Youth Leadership chaired by former NY Chancellor Carl
Hayden.
Mr. Keany was selected by Nassau BOCES as one of the 14 Most
Influential People in Education on Long Island.
