Early Years Teacher Wanted!
Léman International School - Chengdu serves children from ages 3 to 15 (PreK3 to Grade 10) and will add Grades 11 and 12 in the coming years.
The school is part of an international group of schools known as the Meritas International Family of Schools. The organization is based in the USA with 10 schools in the USA, China, Switzerland and Mexico. The schools share a common educational framework while offering curriculum combinations that reflect the clientele of each school. Léman International School has students from 25 different countries and therefore offers an international curriculum with the commitment to support students in transition.

Léman International School is looking for two Early Years Teachers (3 -5 years) to start in August 2013 and will have the following:
Teachers at the school are expected:
Planning
Help develop and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
Plan written lesson plans and conduct daily activities for children in a stimulating environment.
Implement the curriculum and reach the objectives set by the school, for each age group.
Teaching
Provide a stimulating, caring, positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Provide a holistic program.
Promote children’s curiosity and knowledge.
Devise and produce a wide range of teaching resources.
Organize out-of-school activities.
Be able to work autonomously, as well as in teams.
Assessment
Observe, assess and record each child’s progress, including maintaining effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Identify strengths and weaknesses in children and encourage them to the maximum of their potential
Pedagogical
Student Support
Be attentive to learning and behavioral difficulties.
Security and safety
Ensure the health and safety of children is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the school.
Supervise the children during lunch, eat with students.
Home link
Make each parent and child feel welcome.
Keep parents well appraised of their child’s academic and social development
Participate in regular parent meetings.
Keep parents informed of events and activities happening in school.
School life
Collaboration with colleagues and other members of staff
Share knowledge gained with other members of staff.
Work with others to plan and coordinate work.
Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings.
Supervise the assistants working beside us.
Respect
Foster an attitude of respect amongst pupils/parents and other members of staff.
Include the assistant in the class so that s/he is listened to and respected by the children.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community.
Promote the mission and philosophy of the school.
Professional development
Keep up-to-date with changes in the curriculum and new developments in best practice.
Attend professional development courses.
