Comments from 11/17/19 Poll - Effectiveness of Parents to Control Screen Time

Based upon feedback you may receive, how effective do you think parents in your school/district are in controlling the amount of time daily that their children use electronic devices?

Answer Respondent
Most parents of our middle school students are not aware of what their child(ren) can be involved in online. Sadly, a rampant issue is young adolescents taking nudes and sending them out through social media. Even though we have had assemblies & outside agencies speak to these dangers, it continues. Many of our parents struggle with limiting their own use of their electronics. Anonymous
Kids will find a way around the rules. My students will use other student's devices if theirs was taken away or find another workaround that the parents are oblivious too. Anonymous

We are noticing our kids are coming in with less social skills, weaker readiness skills (cutting, grip, and such) and have shorter attention spans. They need assistance with perseverance as well. Screen time at home also is involving viewing inappropriate videos and information as well. Anonymous
