The ability to navigate through the challenges that we are presented with on a daily basis was best described by Aristotle when he said:
“Anyone can become angry – this is easy.
But to be angry with the right person,
to the right degree,
at the right time,
for the right purpose, and
in the right way that is not easy.”
This online forum will allow participants the opportunity to develop skills that will enable them to identify, use, understand and manage their emotions and the emotions of others.

(Mayer, Salovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test – Yale University).
This forum is appropriate for teachers, support personnel (guidance, social workers, and/or psychologists), administrators, and/or parents.

Cecile Wren
Currently Cecile Wren does consulting and is a certified test administrator and coach for the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) coordinated through Yale University. The MSCEIT is a skills-based assessment that is an excellent resource tool for adults who want to utilize emotional literacy both in their personal and professional lives.
Additionally, Cecile is senior faculty member at the Center for Social and Emotional Education, was a senior coach for the Academy of Educational Development, and an administrative mentor for Eastern Suffolk and Southern Westchester BOCES.
Cecile serves on the Love Is Not Abuse Advisory Board for Liz Claiborne Inc. and is a member of the Social and Emotional Literacy Forum (SELF). She was the past-president of the Nassau County Middle School Principal’s Association; was a Liaison to the New York State Education Department; and served on the executive committee for the Social and Emotional Wellness (SEW) Forum sponsored by the North Shore/LIJ Mental Health Alliance.
Cecile Wren was the principal at Jericho Middle School for eight years and worked collaboratively with her staff to design and implement a resilient middle school that articulated a clear vision. This vision integrated emotional literacy competencies and research-based best practices in order to meet the social, emotional, ethical, and academic needs of their students.
Cecile has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences and provides specialized training programs for industry, as well as, school districts.
